at the end of 2021 i quit art-making for nearly two years and picked up boxing. during that time, i trained for 20 to 25 hours a week and was on track to get my boxing license in Argentina. eventually i abandoned the endeavor and returned to creating, but i continue to draw inspiration from the experience for my series of conflict-related performance pieces. i perform in some, while in others i cast trained martial artists from my community.

fightscores

fightscores are pieces exploring the link between musical improvisation and combat improvisation. fighters respond to musicians and each other; musicians respond to fighters and one another. eventually what occurs is a trancelike loop, interlaced with occasional crowd cheers / gasps joining the audio composition.
